More sketching...

Here's a few new sketch's I've done over the last few days. I especially enjoyed drawing the hand holding the glass. I've got a half formed idea in my head that's going to involve a girl holding a glass like that - I just haven't quite decided what exactly to do with it. Ah well, it's one to keep on the back burner.

Wednesday Night Fever...

I went to the AOI's new voices exhibition last night with Snoo. It was great (if not a little hot!!) It was great to see the likes of Lorna, Emma, Chichi, Fes, Clare and Nick again. It's been ages since I've met up with them. Paula's work looked great! There was some other really interesting work there as well from some names to look out for (Thea Brine and Sarah Hanson being two of them!)

On the walk back to Kennington, I got a bit carried away with taking some night photos. It was such a lovely, mild evening - it was like being on holiday again!

Scanning Darkly...

After seeing 'A Scanner Darkly' last weekend, I've been experimenting with using paths in Photoshop to create some vector style images. It's been quite time consuming at the moment, but I'm slowly starting to get to grips with the process. I'm working on a self portrait at the moment, and it's coming together rather nicely.

I've still got quite a lot of fleshing out to do on the face, but I'm really pleased with the look of ot at the moment - especially the eyes. Very deep and piecing. I'll upload the full image when it's finished. However, do to massive technical difficulties with my new computer (so much so that it's having to be sent back) it could be a while...

Disco Down...

Greetings all. Apologies for my absence. However, I am back with a whole load of new work! First off, here's a piece that I completed the other week. She's lovingly known as 'Retro Girl'. Mainly coming about from a sketch that drew, and then decided to paint. I have to say (and many others have said the same) that this is definitley a big step forward, and goes some way to bridging the pencil/digital divide. The colour in the hair, and spot colours on the face seem to help everything sit together better. I'm also very happy with the city behind as well.

Oppinions, as always are very welcome.
